Miss Lees' Practice Philosophy |
Your initial consultation will address your presenting concerns and your previous medical history. A clinical examination will be performed by Miss Lees and there will be a full discussion of the options to suit your individual requirements and expectations. Information will be given concerning the treatment recommendations including details of the surgical procedure, recovery time and anticipated result.
If you have any particular questions prior to the consultation then it may be helpful to write these down and bring them with you as it is easy to forget what you intended to ask. It is often helpful to have a friend or relative accompany you.
If there are specific concerns relating to the anaesthetic a pre-operative anaesthetic consultation can be arranged prior to your coming into hospital.
Miss Lees employs a practice nurse who is highly experienced in caring for plastic, cosmetic and hand surgery patients. She will be closely involved in your care and is normally with you in clinic from your first consultation.
It is good medical practice to have a written referral from your own General Practitioner, for which reason Miss Lees will normally suggest that you discuss your situation with your GP.
Miss Lees has a major commitment to teaching and training of senior trainees in plastic surgery. She may have one of these surgeons with her in the consultation. If you would rather be seen on your own then please mention this as you come to reception.
Miss Lees would be happy to offer a fully female team to patients who require this on account of personal, cultural and religious preferences.
